Job Summary
The Electrician Apprentice is a key member of our team. This position has a critical role in the achievement of company goals including profitability and customer service. This position is for an individual that is focused on learning, growth, and becoming an Electrician capable of running his own truck in the future.

The Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Lead Techs and Installers in all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair of the electrical systems in residential buildings. Electricians will respond to service calls, perform planned maintenance, inspections, as well as new installations.

It is imperative that the Electrician Apprentice at all times display a professional image, and positive attitude towards all customers.


Accountability
  • This is a full time position with some on call nights and weekends
  • Due to the nature of our jobs/ workload, it is very difficult to predict the exact end time each day. Overtime will be required as needed and will vary from day to day. Flexibility is key.
  • The person in this position, as in all positions in our company, is expected to show respect for people at all times; customers, vendors, fellow employees and others. This needs to be reflected in all contact while representing our company
  • It is expected that the person in this position will work productively and efficiently and will perform work to our company standards and the NEC
  • This person reports directly to the Service Manager


Responsibilities 

Image
  • Must at all times maintain a profession, clean image
  • Company uniform must be worn as required.
  • Company truck must be kept clean, neat, and organized inside and outside
  • Company ID badge must be worn at all times when greeting customer and collecting payment

Communication
  • Communicate with Manager or Dispatcher throughout the day as required
  • Continually communicate with the customer to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Communicate back to the office and debrief after each call

Onsite Job Responsibilities
  • Establish rapport with clients and build value
  • Floor Savers/ Boot Covers must be worn at all times within customers’ home. Drop cloths as required to protect clients’ home/ possessions
  • Never sell the customer something that they do not need
  • Explain to the client what service you are performing and why. Show the client how the company provides superior service and build value
  • Double check all aspects of the work completed and job site to ensure no callbacks. Review all details with customer and ensure satisfaction before leaving the home
  • Be responsible for quality control and cleanliness of each job
  • Resolve customer issues immediately whenever possible

General
  • Actively participate in company training meetings for continued improvement
  • Actively contribute to building the company’s culture. Act as a part of the team and encourage others to excel
  • Maintain stock levels, cleanliness, and organization of company trucks
  • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.

Job Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Drug Free- Must be able to pass random drug testing
  • Clean criminal record

  • Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills for electrical installation, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Work both indoors and outdoors 
  • Must be able to work with tools and live electricity
  • Wear safety attire often, such as goggles or other protective clothing as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffolding
  • Must be able to work in cramped work places, such as attics and crawl spaces
